Former 500cc World Champion Kevin Schwantz will compete in the Australian Safari, an eight-day off-road rally held in the Australian outback, August 20-27.
Schwantz will compete aboard a Suzuki DRZ400, prepped by Yoshimura and Australian Mick Hone.
“I’m doing it for fun and I’d like to think I’ll be competitive,” Schwantz said. “I’m not going with any expectations of being a race winner. I’ve also never seen anything but the east coast of Australia so it’s a chance to see some of the country.”
Schwantz recently competed in a GNCC round in Morganton, North Carolina and also in a desert race in New Mexico.
