Kawasaki Team Green’s Chuck Woodford (pictured) came away with the overall win at the infamous Moose Run in Morrison, Illinois, yesterday. The race, which was round eight of the Parts Unlimited World Off-Road Championship Series (WORCS) National and round three of the WORCS East Series, maintained its reputation as “the toughest race in America.” Things started off harmlessly enough but when the rains came during the race, things got ugly.
The only rider who gave the “king of the Moose Run” (Woodford) a fight was second-place finisher Jimmy Jarrett, on a Yamaha.
Yamaha rider Matt Stavish looked to have third place wrapped up until he got barbed wire rapped up in his rear wheel and had his rear brake line torn off. Stavish ended up fifth.
Third place went to KTM rider Brian Garrahan, followed by fellow KTM pilot Tim Taber. Yamaha-mounted Ty Davis ended up seventh.
