Freestyler and Supermoto racer Mike Metzger suffered a broken back yesterday while performing a back flip for the Discovery Channel near the Queen Mary in Long Beach, California, according to the Long Beach Press Telegram
The man known as the Godfather of Freestyle was attempting a back flip over a 75-foot gap between two barges that were anchored in the channel while filming a segment for “Stunt Junkies.”
Metzger, 31, was transported to hospital where it was diagnosed that he’d fractured his L-4 vertebra.
