The third round of the 2025-26 AMA/FIM Arenacross Championship took place at the Blue Arena in Loveland, Colorado, on January 3. Robbie Wageman emerged as the night’s overall winner after his consistency paid off during the two main events. Wageman now jumps to third in the series standings while MotoConcepts Honda’s Ryan Breece continues to lead the championship.

It was a battle of the teammates in race one as Breece led his MCR Honda teammate Austin Politelli for the entirety of the opening main event. Behind them, another set of teammates, the Heartbeat Hot Sauce NanoXtreme Yamahas of Robbie Wageman and Cole Thompson, battled it out for the final spot on the podium. Breece went untouched for the win, while Politelli fell on the final lap but remounted to finish fifth. Politelli’s mistake bumped Thompson and Wageman up a spot, taking second and third, respectively, at the line.
Politelli rebounded from his crash in race one with a big holeshot in race two, leading the way from the get-go. With Politelli out front, Breece and Thompson made contact in the early laps while duking it out for second. Multiple run-ins set these two rivals back in the pack as the leader, Politelli, made a break for it. Wageman also capitalized on the Breece-Thompson battle and found himself in the mix for a podium. On the final lap, Breece made a dive-bomb pass on Thompson and put both riders on the ground. This move cost both riders positions, with Thompson remounting for fourth and Breece taking fifth. Wageman ended up as the big winner for the night, going 3-2 for the overall win and becoming the first two-time winner of the season. Politelli nabbed second overall thanks to 5-1 results, and Thompson still ended up on the overall podium in third with 2-4 finishes.
“I didn’t execute the way I wanted to, but luck was just on my side with 3-2 moto scores on the night,” Wageman said. “With Austin [Politelli] crashing in the first one and then a little bit of chaos in the second one, I was able to pounce on that and pick my way through. Overall, I feel good, and I’m enjoying racing.”
Breece, who took fourth overall, still leads the series standings at 88 points to Thompson’s 86 and Wageman’s 85. The series continues next weekend at round four in Toronto, Canada.CN
