2025 Amateur National Motocross Championship Results (Updated)

The 44th annual Monster Energy AMA Amateur National Motocross Championship at Loretta Lynn’s Ranch is officially underway here in Hurricane Mills, Tennessee. Tuesday marks day one of racing for the single-largest motocross event in the United States with more than 1,500 amateurs competing across 36 different classes. Each class will race three separate motos throughout the week, ending on Saturday, August 2, when each class champion will be formally crowned.

Day 4 Results

The penultimate day of racing kicked off the third and final set of motos as the first wave of AMA National Champions were crowned with 23 classes contesting their deciding moto.

Moto 3: 85cc (10-12)

All week Twisted Development KTM’s Sawyer Gieck set the standard in the 85cc divisions. He entered Friday’s final moto with a pair of moto wins and enjoyed a comfortable margin in the standings. As the field stormed out the gate BS Moto Lab Husqvarna’s Landon Lee grabbed the early lead over MotoBros KTM’s Anderson Waldele. Gieck started sixth, but made several passes early to move into third.

After a pass on Waldele for second, Gieck set his sights on Lee. Gieck’s pace was slightly faster and he soon closed to within a second as both riders posted their fastest laps of the moto. Gieck passed for the lead and quickly put multiple seconds on Lee, completing the 1-1-1 sweep by 3.5 seconds over Lee. Altus Motorsports BLU CRU Yamaha’s Jaydin Smart completed the top three, followed by KTM rider Eidan Steinbrecher in fourth and 110 Racing KTM’s Whalyn Ballenger in fifth. Gieck led the way on the overall podium with a perfect 1-1-1 mark for three points and the AMA National Championship, while back-to-back second place moto finishes pushed Lee into the runner-up spot with 9-2-2 finishes for 13 points. Ballenger rounded out the overall podium in third with 6-3-5 results for 14 points.

Moto 3: Mini Sr. 1 (12-14) & Mini Sr. 2 (13-15)

Husqvarna rider Maddox Temmerman and Altus Motorsports BLU CRU Yamaha’s Tayce Morgan positioned themselves atop the standings in both Mini Senior classes. Temmerman began the week strong and held the edge in Mini Sr. 2, but Morgan started to shift the momentum into his favor and led the way in Mini Sr. 1.

Mini Sr. 2 was the first to hit the track on Friday, where Temmerman held a slim one-point lead on Morgan. As the race got underway, Morgan positioned himself into second behind GASGAS MOB’s Alex Campigli, while Temmerman started from sixth. Out front, Campigli and Morgan traded fast laps until Campigli crashed out of the lead and dropped to fifth. Parker MX KTM’s Hudson Vagele moved into second but battled with Temmerman for the position. Temmerman made the pass and found himself within striking distance of Morgan, but later went down and ended his title hopes. Morgan brought home his second moto win of the week by a margin of 4.5 seconds over Triangle Cycles BLU CRU Yamaha’s Cooper Johnson, with Vagele in third. Temmerman soldiered home in fourth, with Altus Motorsports GASGAS’ Elliott Bowsher in fifth.

Morgan’s 3-1-1 finishes gave him five points and made him an AMA National Champion. Temmerman’s seven points on 1-2-4 finishes resulted in a runner-up finish, while Johnson’s consistent 2-4-2 effort and eight points completed the overall podium.

Morgan and Temmerman returned to the track one last time for Mini Sr. 1. As the field roared into the first turn, the Yamaha’s of Johnson and Morgan led the way, while Temmerman faced an uphill battle after starting in 14th place.

Morgan fended off several advances and established a little breathing room in the closing stages while misfortune ultimately cost Vagele second place on the final lap. The leaders remained close throughout the moto as Morgan won by a margin of just 1.2 seconds over Johnson, with Vagele in third. Temmerman logged the fastest lap of the moto, but couldn’t get any further than fourth. Bowsher finished fifth.

Morgan capped off a double AMA National Championship outing with 2-2-1 finishes for five points, while Temmerman secured another runner-up finish with 1-5-4 results for 10 points. Vagele completed the overall podium in third with 5-3-3 results for 11 points.

Moto 3: 250 B

A major momentum shift in the second moto of 250 B put KTM Orange Brigade’s Deacon Denno in control entering Friday’s finale. The third moto was set to be a showdown between Denno, Altus Motorsports BLU CRU Yamaha’s Owen Covell, and Monster Energy Kawasaki Team Green’s Vincent Wey. With a pair of rivals to contend with, Denno seized the moment.

Denno piloted his KTM into the early lead while Covell slotted into third. Wey moved forward from sixth but suffered a costly crash that dropped him outside the top 30 and effectively ended his title hopes. Covell moved to second but never got close enough to contest with Denno. Denno took his second straight moto win by 13.1 seconds over Covell, with Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing’s Carson Wood in third. Future MX GASGAS’ William Canaguier was fourth, with EBR Performance/Altus Motorsports BLU CRU Yamaha’s Chace Lawton in fifth.

Denno’s exceptionally consistent 2-1-1 finishes for four points vaulted him to the AMA National Championship, with Covell’s six points from 1-3-2 results landing him in the runner-up spot. Lawton rounded out the overall podium with 5-4-5 finishes for 14 points.

Monster Energy Kawasaki Team Green’s Enzo Temmerman entered the final 250 Pro Sport moto with back-to-back wins through the first two motos.

Altus Motorsports BLU CRU Yamaha rider Kade Johnson started the race in control with a multi-second lead over Monster Energy Kawasaki Team Green’s Landen Gordon in second. Temmerman started sixth and ultimately found himself more than 10 seconds behind the leader but still inside the top three. With three laps remaining, Temmerman dropped the hammer and successfully passed Gordon for second before catching and passing Johnson on the final lap. The gritty effort capped off a 1-1-1 sweep for Temmerman, winning by seven seconds over Johnson. Gordon settled for third, with Munn Racing Husqvarna’s Diesel Thomas in fourth and Rockstar Energy Husqvarna’s Landon Gibson in fifth.

Temmerman’s impressive sweep of the motos showcased his ability to both lead from the front and also come from behind. His 1-1-1 finishes for three points easily clinched the AMA National Championship, while Gordon completed a 1-2 overall result for Team Green with 2-4-3 finishes and nine points. Gibson rounded out the overall podium with 3-2-5 results for 10 points.

Moto 3: Supermini 1 (12-15)

After trading finishing positions through the first two motos, Roost MX GASGAS’ Colt Martin and JM Racing GASGAS’ Darren Pine came into Friday’s action tied atop the standings.

Neither Martin nor Pine started up front. Instead, Husqvarna rider Drew Marson and VIP Academy KTM’s Brecken Maas led the way, while Pine settled into third. The rider to watch was JM Racing KTM’s Kane Brown, who started eighth and charged up the running order to take over the lead in just two laps. As Brown continued to manage a lead of about a second, Pine and Martin engaged in a battle of their own for second. Pine responded and reclaimed the position while Brown kept all challengers at bay to secure a thrilling moto win by 7.8 seconds over Pine, with Martin in third. KTM Orange Brigade’s Nolan Ford finished fourth, followed by KTM rider Noxx Lewin.

But Darren Pine still came out on top.

By virtue of his better finishing position, Pine captured the AMA National Championship with consistent finishes of 2-1-2 for five points. Martin was right behind in the runner-up spot, with 1-2-3 finishes for six points, narrowly missing out on victory. Brown’s impressive final moto performance vaulted him to third overall with 3-5-1 finishes for nine points.

The third day of racing continued on with a list of second motos as championship drama began to take place.

Moto 2: Mini Sr. 1 (12-14)

The second moto of Mini Sr. 1 kicked off Thursday’s action with an exciting three-rider battle for the win. The race began with Triangle Cycles BLU CRU Yamaha’s Cooper Johnson pacing the field with pressure from KTM rider Hunter Vagele and Altus Motorsports BLU CRU Yamaha’s Tayce Morgan. The lead trio duked it out in the first half of the moto, separated by less than three seconds.

Vagele decided to make his move and successfully passed Johnson to take the lead, establishing a slight advantage before both Johnson and Morgan closed back in. A slow lap by Vagele opened the door for both of his rivals to make passes, which dropped the KTM rider from first to third. Johnson reclaimed the lead and held off Morgan in the closing stages to win by 1.8 seconds. Vagele lost touch late but kept his hold of third, with JK Powersports KTM’s Jackson Vick in fourth. Moto 1 winner and Husqvarna rider Maddox Temmerman started 19th but valiantly worked his way to fifth. The third and final moto for Mini Sr. 1 is scheduled for Friday. After two motos, Morgan’s 2-2 finishes have given him a one-point edge over Temmerman’s 1-5 finishes. Vagele is third, with 5-3 finishes leaving him four points behind Morgan.

Moto 2: 250 B

After a difficult end to the Moto 1, KTM Orange Brigade’s Deacon Denno entered Moto 2 looking to finish the job. The race turned into a head-to-head battle between Denno and Monster Energy Kawasaki Team Green’s Vincent Wey as Wey’s ability to log consistent laps helped keep a persistent Denno at bay.

The duo was never separated by more than 1.5 seconds as they gapped the rest of the field. At the halfway point, Denno made the move on Wey and grabbed the lead with just a few laps remaining. Once out front, Denno sustained his pace and took the moto win by 7.5 seconds over Wey. Yamaha rider Owen Covell, who won Moto 1, finished in a distant third, followed by EBR Performance/Altus Motorsports BLU CRU Yamaha’s Chace Lawton in fourth and Xtreme Powersports GASGAS’ William Canaguier in fifth. The final 250 B moto is slated for Friday. Denno’s 2-1 finishes give him a one-point edge over Covell’s 1-3 scores, with Wey’s 3-2 results positioning him just two points behind Denno.

Moto 2: Supermini 1 (12-15)

After an impressive win in Moto 1, GasGas rider Colt Martin carried momentum into the second moto of Supermini 1. Dane Pappas grabbed the early lead but went down and lost several positions, allowing KTM rider Noxx Lewin to move into the top spot ahead of Martin and JM Racing GasGas’ Darren Pine.

Lewin held strong for a couple laps, but soon enough the Moto 1 winner (Martin) was back out front. Pine made his way by Lewin to slot into second behind Martin and made the move for the lead just past the halfway point. Once he moved to the front, Pine was able to put distance on Martin and carried on to take the moto win by 8.4 seconds. KTM Orange Brigade’s Nolan Ford put forth an impressive ride to finish third, overcoming a 13th-place start to land on the podium. Lewin followed in fourth, with JM Racing KTM’s Gauge Brown rounding out the top five. The tense third Supermini 1 (12-15) moto is scheduled for Friday. By virtue of their identical moto finishes, Pine (2-1) and Martin (1-2) sit tied in the overall classification, setting the stage for a winner-take-all third moto.

Moto 2: 85cc (10-12) Limited

The second moto of 85cc (10-12) Limited was Twisted Development KTM’s Sawyer Gieck’s race to lose. The Wyoming rider missed out on leading the opening lap to fellow KTM rider Nolan Cobb, Gieck easily moved into the lead while the KTM of Eidan Steinbrecher moved up to second and began chipping away at the deficit to Gieck.

Steinbrecher was the fastest rider on the track and laid down the quickest lap of the moto to close to within two seconds but Gieck responded by picking up his pace. Steinbrecher made one final push in the closing laps, but ultimately ran out of time as Gieck remained undefeated for the week and won by a margin of just 1.3 seconds. KTM rider Whalyn Ballenger gave the Austrian brand a sweep of the moto podium in third, with Husqvarna rider Landon Lee in fourth and Altus Motorsports BLU CRU Yamaha’s Jaydin Smart in fifth. The third and final moto for 85cc (10-12) Limited is scheduled for Saturday. Gieck’s perfect 1-1 finishes give him a significant four-point lead over Ballenger’s 2-3 results.

Moto 2: Schoolboy 1 (12-17) B/C

After a quiet fourth-place finish in Moto 1, Altus Motorsports BLU CRU Yamaha’s Kane Bollasina made his presence felt by leading every lap of the second moto. The Missouri racer put his Yamaha out front early and managed a multi-second lead throughout the entirety of the moto with consistent lap times.

With the Moto 1 win in hand, KTM Orange Brigade’s Braxtyn Mes rode a tactful race to secure his position atop the overall classification. The Californian started in third and quickly slotted into second behind Bollasina. Mes didn’t force the issue and ran comfortably in the runner-up spot. Bollasina finished with a margin of 5.6 seconds over Mes with EBR Performance Yamaha rider Alessandro Carminati in third, followed by South of the Border MX KTM’s Kevyn de Pinho in fourth and Altus Motorsports BLU CRU Yamaha’s Colby Lessar in fifth. The final Schoolboy 1 moto is scheduled for Saturday. With his 1-2 finishes, Mes holds a two-point advantage over Bollasina’s 4-1 results.

Moto 2: Open Pro Sport

The question entering Moto 2 of Open Pro Sport was whether anyone could stop Monster Energy Kawasaki Team Green’s Enzo Temmerman. From the outset Temmerman faced an uphill battle as he was forced to work his way forward in one of the deepest fields of the event. Meanwhile, fellow Monster Energy Kawasaki Team Green rider Landen Gordon took advantage to grab the early lead.

By the completion of lap three, Gordon’s lead had grown to 10 seconds over Altus Motorsports BLU CRU Yamaha rider Kade Johnson. As Gordon ran away with the moto, Temmerman clawed his way up to second at the halfway point. Facing a double-digit deficit, Temmerman didn’t force the issue and ran lap times that mirrored Gordon’s. In the end, Gordon led every lap to secure his first moto win of the week, crossing the line 10.7 seconds ahead of Temmerman. Johnson was never challenged en route to third, while South Mississippi Powersports Husqvarna’s Heath Harrison finished fourth, followed by Munn Racing Husqvarna’s Diesel Thomas in fifth. The stage is set for a dramatic third moto of Open Pro Sport on Saturday. In trading moto wins, Gordon (2-1) and Temmerman (2-1) sit tied atop the standings and will embark on a winner-take-all showdown in Moto 3.

Moto 2: Women

Altus Motorsports BLU CRU Yamaha’s Lachlan “La La” Turner was the favorite heading into the second Women’s moto. Once again she  grabbed the start in Moto 2 and positioning herself near the front to make an aggressive push to the lead on the opening lap.

Turner consistently posted laps that were around five seconds quicker than Monster Energy Kawasaki Team Green’s Kyleigh Stallings in second. At the halfway point, Turner’s lead sat at 22 seconds, which paid big dividends when she tipped over and needed extra time to remount. She lost 10 seconds in that exchange, but restored the advantage and took another dominant moto win by 21.3 seconds over Stallings. Riding on the Edge Yamaha’s Jordan Jarvis earned another third-place finish, with Sun Powersports KTM’s Mayla Herrick fourth and Solid Rock Facilities Husqvarna’s Lilly-Ann Pettus in fifth. The final Women’s moto is slated for Saturday. Based on her first two outings, Turner (1-1) is in control of her own destiny, but Stallings has done her part with back-to-back runner-ups to sit just two points behind.

Moto 1: 85cc (10-12) Limited

After winning earlier in the week, Twisted Development KTM’s Sawyer Gieck came into Wednesday’s first 85cc (10-12) Limited moto in search of more. The Wyoming racer immediately took control of the moto and opened up a three second lead at the conclusion of the opening lap. Behind him, fellow KTM rider Whalyn Ballenger settled comfortably into second.

Gieck dominanted out front and easily captured his second moto win of the week by 10.8 seconds over Ballenger. Third place went to Husqvarna rider Landon Lee, who capped off an impressive moto with a podium finish after starting in 10th place. KTM rider Eidan Steinbrecher finished in fourth, with Suzuki RM Army rider Chase Brennan in fifth. Moto 2 for 85cc (10-12) Limited is scheduled for Thursday.

Schoolboy 1 took to the track for the first time with EBR Performance/Altus Motorsports BLU CRU Yamaha’s Kannon Hargrove out front. Shortly after, the Texan crashed out of the lead and handed the spot to Tom Zont Racing Yamaha’s Chase Moynihan, followed closely by KTM Orange Brigade rider Braxtyn Mes. The two established separation from the rest of the field as Mes stayed within striking distance. With a few laps remaining, Mes made his move for the lead while Moynihan lost another spot to Motosport Hillsboro Husqvarna’s Tristan Prueitt.

Mes brought home the moto win by 2.3 seconds over Prueitt, who made a last lap pass on Moynihan to grab the runner-up spot. Altus Motorsports BLU CRU Yamaha’s Kane Bollasina finished in fourth, with South of the Border MX KTM’s Kevyn de Pinho in fifth. Moto 2 for Schoolboy 1 is scheduled for Thursday.

Moto 1: Women

All eyes on the Women’s division centered on Altus Motorsports BLU CRU Yamaha’s Lachlan “La La” Turner. The reigning WMX Champion and Girls division titleholder has yet to win the Women’s class, but she got her quest for the championship off to an impressive start on Wednesday.

KTM rider Jaelyn Wishon took the holeshot but Turner made quick work to put herself at the head of the pack. With a clear track, she checked out on the field and established a five second lead by the completion of the opening lap. That grew to half minute by the halfway point of the moto. As Turner led, Monster Energy Kawasaki Team Green’s Kyleigh Stallings worked her way up to second, ahead of Riding on the Edge Yamaha’s Jordan Jarvis. The pair went bar to bar throughout the second half of the moto, often separated by less than a second.

Turner dominanted en route to the Moto 1 victory, finishing with a margin of 30.6 seconds over Stallings, who successfully fended off Jarvis. Sun Powersports KTM’s Mayla Herrick was fourth, with Lynx Racing Yamaha’s Mila Baltyk in fifth. Moto 2 for Women is scheduled for Thursday.

Moto 1: Schoolboy 2 (12-17) B/C

After a bittersweet runner-up finish in 250 B, KTM Orange Brigade rider Deacon Denno was in search of unfinished business in Schoolboy 2. Denno led them into the first turn, but was narrowly beat out for the holeshot by fellow KTM rider Carson Fields. Denno’s momentum pushed him to the lead as GASGAS rider William Canaguier took control of second and Fields settled into third.

Denno’s pace was unmatched and he opened up a double-digit lead as the moto entered its second half. Canaguier found himself several seconds ahead of the remainder of the field while battle for third saw several riders take their turn in podium position.

Denno claimed victory, 11.8 seconds ahead of Canaguier. The battle for third went to Monster Energy Kawasaki Team Green’s Vincent Wey, who battled his way through the field after a 13th-place start. EBR Performance/Altus Motorsports BLU CRU Yamaha’s Chace Lawton was fourth, followed by Hunter Racing GASGAS’ Trinnytie Batchelor in fifth. Moto 1: Open Pro Sport

The Open Pro Sport took to the track for the first time on Wednesday with Monster Energy Kawasaki Team Green’s Enzo Temmerman grabbing the holeshot. Munn Racing Husqvarna’s Diesel Thomas quickly moved into the lead but Temmerman reclaimed the top spot before the completion of the opening lap.

Temmerman’s held control of the lead as Thomas dealt with a slew of challengers for second but later gave way in the closing stages to Monster Energy Kawasaki Team Green’s Landen Gordon.

Temmerman enjoyed another win and took t cheheckered flag 8.4 seconds ahead of Gordon for another Team Green 1-2, while Thomas held on for third. Altus Motorsports BLU CRU Yamaha’s Kade Johnson was fourth, followed by Rockstar Energy Husqvarna’s Landon Gibson in fifth. Moto 2 for Open Pro Sport is scheduled for Thursday.

Moto 1: Supermini 2 (13-16)

The final opening moto of the day was worth the wait as Supermini 2 got underway with KTM Orange Brigade rider Nolan Ford storming to the holeshot, only to be passed by JM Racing GasGas’ Darren Pine and Colt Martin. Soon enough, the Twisted Development GasGas of Dane Pappas moved his way into the lead to complete the opening lap.

Pappas, Ford, Martin and Pine engaged in a four-rider battle as all four racers were separated by just over three seconds. Pine eventually lost lost multiple positions at the halfway mark while Pappas held the lead until the final turn of the final lap when he tipped over and allowed Martin to slip past for the win.

Martin took his second moto win of the week, 3.2 seconds ahead of Pappas, followed by Ford in third. KTM rider Noxx Lewin finished in fourth, with GASGAS rider Chase Dashiell in fifth. Moto 2 for Open Pro Sport is scheduled for Friday.

The top three were separated by mere seconds as Gieck made the pass for second around Ballenger and then laid down the fastest lap of the moto around Lee for the race lead. Lee kept Gieck honest and remained well within striking distance but Gieck responded in the late stages of the moto to stretch the lead.

Gieck secured back-to-back moto wins by 6.9 seconds over Lee, followed by Ballenger in third. MotoBros KTM’s Austin Keller finished fourth, followed by Adventure Moto KTM’s Chance Ulberg. Moto 3 for 85cc (10-12) is scheduled for Friday.

Moto 2: 250 Pro Sport

With two wins in his first two motos , Monster Energy Kawasaki Team Green’s Enzo Temmerman the favorite for the second moto of 250 Pro Sport. The Team Green duo of Temmerman and Landen Gordon lead the way, with Gordon securing the holeshot. However, both riders were passed by Altus Motorsports BLU CRU Yamaha’s Kade Johnson.

Johnson lead for several laps, but pressure from Gordon allowed the Kawasaki rider to make the pass for the lead. Temmerman followed his teammate around Johnson into second and from there the Kawasaki rider dropped the hammer. Temmerman moved from third to first in a single lap as he stormed past Gordon and set the fastest lap of the moto. From that point on, Temmerman never looked back.

The California moved to 3-0 on the week and has back-to-back 250 Pro Sports wins entering the third moto. He crossed the finish line 7.4 seconds ahead of Rockstar Energy Husqvarna’s Landon Gibson, who once again finished in a runner-up result after starting fifth. Johnson parlayed his strong start into a third-place finish, while Gordon lost ground late and dropped off the podium in fourth. EBR Performance/Altus Motorsports BLU CRU Yamaha’s Landon Hartz rounded out the top five. Moto 3 for 250 Pro Sport is scheduled for Friday.

With back-to-back moto in Mini Sr. 1 and Mini Sr. 2, all eyes were on Husqvarna rider Maddox Temmerman. When the gate dropped the Gresham Powersports Husqvarna of Jaxson Lang grabbed the holeshot, but his time out front was short lived as Temmerman charged into the lead.

With Temmerman at the front, Altus Motorsports BLU CRU Yamaha’s Tayce Morgan kept the deficit within a couple seconds. Just past the halfway point, Temmerman tucked his front end and went down allowing Morgan to take over the lead. Temmerman pushed and posted the fastest lap of the moto and closed in on Morgan’s rear fender on the final lap.

Temmerman hounded Morgan on the final lap, but the Yamaha rider brought home the victory to end the early week dominance by the Temmerman brothers. The margin of victory was a mere eight tenths of a second, while GasGas rider Alex Campigli finished third. Triangle Cycles BLU CRU Yamaha’s Cooper Johnson was fourth, with JK Powersports KTM’s Jackson Vick in fifth. Moto 3 for Mini Sr. 2 is scheduled for Friday.

Moto 1: 250 Pro Sport

The top amateur prospects took to the track for the first time just before lunch, with an absolutely stacked 250 Pro Sport field. The Munn Racing Husqvarna of Diesel Thomas grabbed the holeshot, closely followed by MRPSBR Husqvarna’s Dane Morales and Monster Energy Kawasaki Team Green’s Landen Gordon, who made several passes early on to slot into the top three. Gordon continued to push the pace early and successfully took over the lead after Thomas went down, just ahead of KTM Orange Brigade’s Luke Fauser, who followed into second.

SLR Honda’s Leum Oehlhof was the fastest rider on the track and after a persistent challenge for the lead, the Honda rider made the pass on Gordon to move into the top spot. Oelhof continued to control the moto through the halfway point, as Gordon lost ground and eventually the second spot to fellow Monster Energy Kawasaki Team Green rider Enzo Temmerman. Once in second, the Californian was able to lower his pace and gained ground on Oehlhof out front. Temmerman continued to close on the Honda and turned an outside line into the winning pass around Oehlhof with a little less than half the moto to go.

Once out front, Temmerman stormed off to a lead of more than 20 seconds as Oehlhof encountered misfortune and was ultimately unable to finish the moto. Temmerman carried on to take the win 25 seconds ahead of Gordon for a Team Green 1-2, while Rockstar Energy Husqvarna’s Landon Gibson put in an impressive ride to overcome a 16th-place start and finish third. Hartz followed in fourth, with Thomas rounding out the top five. Moto 2 for 250 Pro Sport is scheduled for Wednesday.

Moto 1: 250 B

This year’s 250 B class features several prospects ready to make their big bike debuts at the Ranch. The start of Moto 1 saw the Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing ride of Carson Wood storm out to the holeshot with KTM Orange Brigade rider Deacon Denno in second and Monster Energy Kawasaki Team Green’s Vincent Wey in third. The lead trio was separated by less than a second until Wood lost control and went down at the finish complete the opening lap. Denno then moved into first ahead of Wey, while the GASGAS of Tomi Doble followed in third.

Denno’s lead continued to grow and at the halfway point, the KTM rider enjoyed a double-digit advantage. Wey came under pressure from a hard-charging Owen Covell, who powered his Yamaha from a 12th-place start and into the top three as the fastest rider on the track. Covell caught and passed Wey for second and continued to close the deficit to Denno.

Denno’s pace dropped significantly by more than five seconds per lap which allowed Covell to catch and pass for the lead with just over two laps remaining. Denno dug deep to try and make one final push, but Covell stormed to the win by 1.5 seconds over Denno, with Wey in third. Kawasaki rider Nate Freehill was fourth, with EBR Performance/Altus Motorsports BLU CRU Yamaha’s Chace Lawton in fifth. Moto 2 for 250 B is scheduled for Thursday.

The minibike classes will be a focal point all week at the Ranch and the first to hit the track was 85cc (10-12) in the third race of the day. The KTM of Ryder Lane lead the field to the holeshot, but he was soon passed by multiple riders. Eventually the Suzuki RM Army rider of Chase Brennen took hold of the top spot to lead the opening lap, but he was later passed by the Twisted Development KTM of Sawyer Gieck.

Once out front, Gieck laid down the fastest lap of the moto to establish a multi-second lead over the field that he’d never relinquish. The Wyoming rider eventually moved out more than 10 seconds ahead of the field, easily capturing the Moto 1 victory by 12.7 seconds over Brennen, who maintained a firm hold of second throughout the race. The moto podium was rounded out by MotoBros KTM rider Anderson Waldele, followed by the KTM of Eidan Steinbrecher in fourth and the PR 2 Racing GASGAS of Carter Gray in fifth. Moto 2 for 85cc (10-12) is scheduled for Wednesday.

The opening moto of Mini Sr. 1 saw Gresham Powersports Husqvarna’s Jaxon Lang grab the holeshot. Maddox Temmerman pushed to the front after starting seventh, and successfully moved into the top spot before the completion of the opening lap. The clear track became a huge advantage as Temmerman established a lead of more than five seconds after just a few laps. That margin later disappeared when the Husqvarna rider crashed on the third lap, allowing Tayce Morgan to assume the lead aboard his Yamaha. Temmerman recovered to remount in second.

Morgan paced the field but Temmerman laid down a lap nearly three-seconds faster than Morgan at the halfway mark, which all but eliminated the Yamaha rider’s gap. With a half-second between them, Morgan bobbled and Temmerman reclaimed the position in the final laps. Morgan kept Temmerman honest but the Husqvarna rider finished strong to sweep both Mini Sr motos. Morgan finished in second, with Dylan Graham third, Campigli fourth, and KTM rider Hudson Vagele in fifth. Moto 2 for Mini Sr. 1 is scheduled for Thursday.

The first moto began with the MRPSBR Husqvarna of Dylan Graham leading the field to the holeshot, but soon it was the Triangle Cycles BLU CRU Yamaha of Cooper Johnson who surged into the lead ahead of Altus Motorsports GASGAS’ Elliott Bowsher and fellow GASGAS rider Hannah Jamison.

As Johnson strengthened his hold, the Husqvarna of Maddox Temmerman marched forward. The Californian was the fastest rider on the track over the second half of the race and consistently chipped away at Johnson’s lead. The top two were separated by just over a second and shortly after the white flag Johnson made a big save but allowed Temmerman to slip by for the lead. Temmerman kept Johnson at bay over the final lap to take the win by 2.2 seconds. Altus Motorsports BLU CRU Yamaha’s Tayce Morgan finished in third, followed by GASGAS rider Alex Campigli in fourth and Bowsher in fifth. Moto 2 for Mini Sr. 2 is scheduled for Wednesday.

The Junior 25+ class contested its first moto with a field of ex pros. Out the gate, the Kawasaki of Steven Mages and the Yamaha of Hayden Hefner crossed the holeshot side-by-side. Mages was able to put himself out front initially, the Crosley Radio Yamaha of Jacob Baumert stormed past both riders to take the early lead. He was followed by the Husqvarna of Chris Canning, who experienced a scary crash that took him out of the race on the opening lap. After, the KTM pair of Ezra Hastings and Tim Weigand into second and third, respectively.

Jacob Baumer (57) dominated the first moto of Junior 25+. 

The clear track worked into Baumert’s favor as he extended a 15 second advantage between him and South Mississippi Powersports Husqvarna’s Heath Harrison, a former class champion who settled into second. The battle for third became a three-rider affair between Hastings, Muc-Off/FXR/ClubMX Yamaha’s Brandon Haas, and Let’s Ride Powersports Honda’s Jake Weimer. All three traded the position over the course of the moto, until Weimer was able to get the better of his rivals. Moto 2 for Junior (25+) is scheduled for Thursday.

Moto 1: Supermini 1 (12-15)

The first Supermini 1 moto saw the GasGas of Chase Dashiell grab the holeshot over another GasGas ridden by Colt Martin. Once out front, Martin checked out while everyone else battled for position behind him. As things settled, KTM Orange Brigade rider Nolan Ford slotted into second with JM Racing GasGas’ Darren Pine in third.

Ford was the fastest rider on the track and he closed in on Martin, but the KTM rider was unable to hold the pace. Pine eventually made the move for second and one lap later, Ford lost third place to fellow KTM rider Gauge Brown. Back out front, Martin held his advantage over Pine to complete one of the most impressive rides of opening day. He took the checkered flag four seconds ahead of Pine, followed by Brown in third. Ford ended up fourth, while RJR Motorsports KTM’s Ries Seeba was fifth. Moto 2 for Supermini 1 (12-15) is scheduled for Wednesday.
